Andy Ferrier and Kim Tennent - Lara Joan Tennent, Sunday, 27 October 2013 The Inverleigh Bowls Club, a picturesque 30 minute drive from Geelong, hosted its first ever state event today - the Novice Singles. Nineteen players representing St Leonards, Point Lonsdale, Lara, Geelong West, Bell Post Hill, Inverleigh, Ocean Grove and Geelong Cement made the journey to Inverleigh and were treated to a 14.5 second synthetic green with a team of enthusiastic markers, some of whom were marking for the first time themselves.   The team in the kitchen and the bar ensured the players and many spectators were adequately supplied with sandwiches, cakes and refreshments. Congratulations Inverleigh - your hospitality and friendliness ensured the novice bowlers enjoyed their experience and the winners will be looking forward to returning in two weeks time to play the finals.
