Preliminary finals

Well what a Preliminary Final it was!

Lara faced off against Portarlington in the do or die match for a spot in the Grand Final.

A big turn out of supporters helped motivate our players, giving us 17 players in essence.

Played on the greens of Geelong Cement, our Division 4's registered a 103-86 shot win!

An outstanding performance from Jack Ray and his rink (Terry Waters, Tom Seddon and Lorraine Sanderson) saw them win the drinks with a 34-15 shot win. Playing on the Hollywood rink, some magnificent bowls were delivered by all, and a big shout at to Jack for skipping the rink to victory for the second week in a row.

A see-sawing game on Skip Gavin Lane's rink (Terry Fish, Joe McCaffrey and Graham Zanoni) saw them battle hard, but registered a 5 shot loss 20-25.

Drew Hamence's rink (Les Anderson, Ralph Shannahan and Michael Fedyk) battled hard to win the rink however ended up drawing 22 shots a piece.

Greg Woodhouse's rink (Peter Staggard, Jenni Draper and Sam Tennent) got up to register a 3 shot win, 27-24 to take the honours on their rink. At one stage early in the game, Greg's rink was down 6 shots at the head and with the final bowl, pushed the jack back to turn it around and win the end by 4 shots!

Well done to all players and a big thank you to all of our vocal supporters who came out to cheer on the players. The club song was sung loud and proud on Saturday night!

And thanks also goes out to Geelong Cement Bowls club for hosting us and the event, the greens played well and we all had a great day, cheers.

Midweek Preliminary Final

The club wishes our mid week Division 4 side all the best in their Preliminary Final which is being played today, March 15 against Geelong RSL, Go Lara!

Grand Finals
Next Saturday, March 19 sees both our Division 3 and Division 4 teams play in their respective Grand Final matches. Both games will be held at Belmont and a big day it will be.

We encourage all of our members and supporters to come out and cheer on our players in what we hope will be two division flags for the Club in 2015-2016 pennant season.
