Grand finals
Both our Division 3 and 4 teams travelled out to Belmont to play in their respective Grand Finals on Saturday.
A great achievement to make the Grand Finals but unfortunately both of our sides went down on the day.
Div 4 were well and truly beaten by Geelong. And our Div 3 went down in controversial circumstances against Torquay...
The club is proud of your efforts today and throughout the year.
A big thank you to all players and our great supporters who turned out in force today.
The positive take aways from today is both sides have gone up a division...the 3's are in Div 2 next season, and the 4's in Div 3.
That shapes us to have a Premier League side, two division 2 sides and a div 3 side next year...with div 6, 9 and 10 to develop.
We are a strong independent club with a great deal to look forward to in the next pennant season and beyond.
Go Lara!
Division 3
In a tight and somewhat controversial finish, Division 3 lost to Torquay 94-99.
Ian Polwarth Jnr skipped his rink (Robert Polwarth, Nehill Allwood and Les Hutchinson) to a strong win, 28-15.
Ken Bell's rink (Peter Hayes, Nick Gallagher and Eugene Marshall) also registered a win, 30-29.
Robert Grosset's rink (Trevor Rufus, Sheri Tump and Tracey Telenius) went down 13-30.
Greg Woodhouse's rink (Tony Ansett, Ken Howe and John Sanders) went down by 2 shots, 23-25.
Thanks goes out to Coach Michael Kelly and Manager Dennis Clarke for giving up their time and providing their support.
Division 4
Playing on a slow grass green, the Div 4's struggled to put any scoreboard pressure onto the oppostion. Going down by 28 shots 70-98.
Jack Ray's rink (Terry Waters, Tom Seddon and Lorraine Sanderson) went down 13-32.
Gavin Lane's rink (Terry Fish, Joe McCaffrey and Graham Zanoni) the only rink winners posted a 28-20 win.
Drew Hamence's rink (Michael Gale, Les Anderson and Michael Fedyk) went down 12-27.
Ian Polwarth Snr's rink (Peter Staggard, Jenni Draper and Sam Tennent) went down 17-19.
Thanks goes out to Coach Keith Sanderson and Manager Max Draper for their input and support on the day.
